Four questions that decide the edge
How is the belt driven?
Drum-driven spiral belts, sprocket-driven belts and chain-edge belts need different edges.
What touches the edge?
Guides, side plates and drum surfaces decide the edge profile you need.
How heavy is the load?
Heavier loads may call for a welded or reinforced edge rather than a clinched one.
Matching an existing belt?
Send the old belt or a close-up photo of the edge. We identify it and confirm it on the drawing.
Questions about belt edges
What is the most common edge on a spiral freezer belt?
Welded edges, such as button, flat-hat or rod welded, are common on spiral freezer belts. The right one depends on your spiral system, so we confirm it on the drawing.
What do SLE and DLE mean?
Single-loop edge and double-loop edge: two looped-wire edge styles used on trapezoidal mesh belts.
Is a clinched edge as strong as a welded edge?
They serve different needs. Clinched edges avoid welding and suit many woven and flat wire belts; welded edges are used where the design or load requires them.
Can you match the edge of my current belt?
