A self-stacking belt has stack plates and bent links that stand proud of the mesh. Those are the parts a long journey can damage, so the packing is written on the production order with the rest of the belt.
On our recent self-stacking belt orders, the belt is wrapped in bubble wrap and waterproof film, then packed in a 15 mm export wooden case. Battens on the floor protect the 45° bends, corner guards protect the edges, and steel strapping runs both ways. Packing still follows the agreed route and destination.

I am Sunny Ye, Global Sales Director at YIYI Mesh Belt (Ningjin Yiyi Mesh Belt Co., Ltd.). These are the packing rules from two recent SUS304 self-stacking belt orders from our factory in Ningjin, one for South Korea and one for India. Your order may be different, because packing follows your route and destination.
What do our production orders say about packing?
Both orders give the same packing rules: a 15 mm export wooden case of the regular style, battens under the belt, corner guards on the four sides, and steel strapping both ways. The belt goes in bubble wrap with waterproof film outside. Retractable link sides are stacked on one side.
| Item | Rule on the order | What it protects |
|---|---|---|
| Inner wrap | Bubble wrap with waterproof film outside | Moisture and surface |
| Wooden case | 15 mm (0.59 in) export wooden case, regular style | The belt during transport |
| Case floor | Battens lift the belt | The 45° bends |
| Case edges | Corner guards on the four sides | The case edges |
| Strapping | Steel strapping both ways, with extra straps | The closed case |
| Belt layout | Retractable link sides stacked together on one side | Links and stack plates |
Wooden-case fabrication uses external suppliers. Packing follows the agreed transport route and destination requirements.

Why do we pack the belt upright?
Packed upright, the side plates stay supported, so they are less likely to bend or scratch in transit. It also takes fewer cases. When one customer asked for a different method, we sent a written comparison, because that method risked deforming the side chain and needed many more cases.
| Point | Our standard method (upright) | What to watch on another method |
|---|---|---|
| Side plates | Supported and protected | Plates may bend or scratch |
| Side chain | Packed upright with the plates | Risk of deformation |
| Cases and volume | Fewer cases | More cases and higher freight |
| Unpacking | Organised | More sorting on site |

What do we do before the case is closed?
We confirm belt protection, supplied accessories and packing against the order. Our production orders also require net weight, gross weight and volume to be recorded before the cases are closed. Each case carries order identification, and a shipping list is placed with the belt. All of this comes after 100% final inspection.
| Check | Against | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Belt protection | Order | Photos |
| Supplied accessories | Order | Shipping list |
| Net weight, gross weight, volume | Measured before closing | Recorded for the order |
| Customer video inspection | Only when written on the order | Before shipment |

What should you tell us about packing?
Tell us the destination port, the transport route, whether you need a video inspection before shipment, and any case size limit at your site. If you want a packing method of your own, tell us at the quotation stage, so we can compare it with our standard method first.

When does this not apply?
These rules come from two export orders. Another route or a special customer specification may need something else. The order confirmation governs.
